236.  (McFeeters Family, Sheldon, Vermont).  Group lot of 25 manuscript letters, April 11, 1862-January 6, 1868 (majority 1862-65).  Mix of Civil War and family/local news: includes five letters from Samuel McFeeters (1841-62), private in Company K, Sixth Vermont Infantry, until his death from typhoid fever, June 2, 1862; February 1865 letter about the January 17 death from disease of Andrew McFeeters (1844-65), First Vermont Cavalry.  Majority of letters addressed to James A. McFeeters (1848-1916), who served in Company K, Sixth Vermont Infantry from February to November 1864 (twice wounded) and then in the Vermont Reserve Corps from November 1864 to July 1865.  One fine seven-page letter home from Samuel McFeeters about the May 1864 Battle of the Wilderness (in which brother James was wounded).  Condition:  good.
