Post Hospital

The Post Hospital was built in 1894 with it’s stone foundation, brick walls and slate roof. Originally 11,440 square feet in size, it was lighted by mineral oil, had hot water heat, and was coal fired.

The original design had 9 water closets, 13 wash basins and two urinals for it’s plumbing. The cost to build the hospital in 1894 was $55,052.59. The old Post Hospital is now home to the Green Mountain Nursing Home.
